Biomarkers of hemodynamic status in patients with moderate and severe COVID-19

Aim. To assess laboratory markers of hemodynamic status in patients with moderate to severe COVID-19. Materials and Methods. Here we examined 15 COVID-19 16 critically ill patients. The control group consisted 20 healthy volunteers. levels endothelin-1, brain natriuretic peptide (BNP), N-terminal pro-brain (NT-proBNP) were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. amounts nitrites (NO 2 ) nitrates 3 a Griess test (an enzymatic conversion nitrites) following colorimetric analysis. Results. Measurements nitrites, showed high variability. NT-proBNP reduced 65% 50% COVID-19, respectively (p < 0.05). In contrast, the BNP elevated 472% 548% these patient categories These results indicated increased left ventricular load suggested heart failure. Conclusion. Progressive increase concurrent reduction indicate affected hemodynamics
